Homecoming 2015

UOIT proudly hosted the Ryerson Rams for both Men's and Women's soccer games and the Toronto Furies, a professional women's hockey team, on Saturday, October 3 for the 2015 Homecoming celebration. The Ridgebacks managed to pick up one win with our ladies soccer team, but fell short against the Furies and the Ryerson's men's soccer team.

WOMEN'S SOCCER

The women's soccer team added to their fourth-straight shutout of the season during Homecoming, beating the Ryerson Rams 1-0.

Ridgebacks Round-up: September 2015

Golf

The Ridgebacks Golf team came out strong at the Toronto Invitational, with four athletes finishing with rounds in the 70s. James Krantz (pictured left), who was been named UOIT Athlete of the week twice in September, got the team's lowest score of 74 at the Invitational. Nicklaus Dirk, Ben Kennedy and Riley Prentice all finished with rounds of 78 which gave the Ridgebacks a team score of 308.

The OUA Championships will take place at the Oshawa Golf and Curling Club from October 19 to 20, which will mark UOIT's second year in a row playing host to the tournament.

Behind the Scenes at the Pan Am Games

The Pan American Games, or Pan Am Games, is a major summer sporting event that takes place every four years and the summer before the Olympic Summer Games. The athletes come from the Americas, and include all 28 sports featured in the Summer Olympics.

When I was approached 2 years ago to be a volunteer for the Games, I’ll admit I had no idea what they were. At that point, I had heard of all of the changes Toronto and the surrounding areas were making for the games, but I still wasn’t 100% sure what they were or if I’d eventually volunteer. I could have never realized at that point when I was asked to participate just how large the games are, or how they would impact my summer.

A victory and defeat for UOIT at Campus Cup 2015

For the third year in a row, the UOIT's ladies soccer team dominated the Campus Cup over Durham College.

At the seventh annual Campus Cup, which consists of two soccer games between UOIT's and Durham College's soccer teams during Frosh week, the UOIT Ridgebacks dominated the Durham Lords in a score of 5-0.
